I’ve been around boats my entire life. What started as time on the water eventually turned into a passion for understanding how boats work, how they’re built, and more importantly—how they can be made better.
I’m a fishing guide, Walleye tournament angler, and a serious duck hunter, so my equipment isn’t just for show—it gets used hard in real conditions. Long days chasing walleyes, early mornings running through the marsh, and countless hours on the water have taught me what actually matters in a boat: reliability, smart layout, clean rigging, and systems that work without fail.
Over the years, I found myself constantly modifying my own boats—improving wiring, changing layouts, upgrading materials, and dialing in every detail to make them perform exactly the way I needed. Friends and other anglers started asking for help with their rigs, and that’s how True North Boat Works was born.
This business is built on the same mindset I’ve always had: every boat can be better. I take pride in helping others get the same level of performance, functionality, and confidence out of their boats that I demand from my own. Whether it’s a simple upgrade or a full custom build, the goal is always the same—make it cleaner, make it stronger, and make it work the way it should.
